Prominy SC Electric Guitar – Virtual Stratocaster Library

Sampled guitars often sound like keyboards pretending. Prominy SC Electric Guitar is built to close that gap: an 80 GB virtual Stratocaster-style electric guitar with deep sampling, intelligent chord recognition and a performance engine tuned for realism. From pristine cleans to searing leads, it aims to behave like the instrument, not just sound like a recording of one.

How the Prominy SC Electric Guitar Performs

The Prominy SC Electric Guitar uses super-performance multi-samples to capture the nuance of real playing — pick attack, fret noise, vibrato and all. Its intelligent chord recognition lets you play realistic chord progressions without programming each voicing by hand, while the articulation library covers sustains, mutes, harmonics and more for expressive lead work. The engine is optimized for low latency so the guitar responds like hardware, and built-in effects and processing let you shape tones from clean to high-gain without leaving the plugin.

Key Features

• 80 GB sampled electric guitar — meticulous multi-sampling for authentic tone and feel.
• Intelligent chord recognition — realistic chord progressions with minimal programming.
• Deep articulation library — sustains, mutes, harmonics and expressive techniques.
• Low-latency engine — responsive performance that feels like playing hardware.
• Built-in FX and processing — shape clean, crunch and lead tones inside the plugin.
• Genre-versatile — from funk cleans to rock rhythm and metal leads.

Let the chord recognition handle rhythm parts while you focus on lead articulation — that division of labor is where the library shines. For strummed parts, keep velocities varied and timing slightly loose; perfectly quantized guitar is what gives virtual instruments away. The built-in effects are genuinely usable, so try shaping tones inside the plugin before reaching for your amp sims.

Who Is the Prominy SC Electric Guitar For?

This virtual Stratocaster suits composers who need believable guitar parts without a session player, producers programming rock, pop, funk or metal arrangements, and keyboardists covering guitar in live or studio settings. At 80 GB it demands real disk space and rewards users who learn its articulation system. Guitarists themselves may still prefer recording the real thing — but for everyone else, this is as close as sampling gets.

Compatibility and Tech Specs

The Prominy SC Electric Guitar is an 80 GB Kontakt library requiring the full version of Kontakt, running as a VST2, VST3, AU or AAX plugin through Kontakt. It is compatible with Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Cubase, Pro Tools, Studio One and Reaper. System requirements are macOS 10.13 or later (Intel or Apple Silicon) and Windows 10 or later, with a minimum of 8 GB RAM — 16 GB recommended — and sufficient SSD space for the library.

Prominy SC Electric Guitar FAQ

Does it require the full version of Kontakt?

Yes. The Prominy SC Electric Guitar is a deeply scripted library that needs the full retail version of Kontakt. Factor that in if you only own Kontakt Player — the library will not load without the full version. The library will simply not appear in the Player browser without the full version installed.

How large is the download?

The library is 80 GB, so a fast connection and an SSD are strongly recommended. At 80 GB it dwarfs most synth plugins, so clear space before you start the download.

Can it handle both clean and distorted tones?

Yes. The sampling and built-in processing cover everything from pristine cleans to aggressive high-gain lead and rhythm tones. Funk, pop, rock and metal are all covered — the articulation set adapts across styles.
