Unison Drum Monkey – Instant Drum Pattern Maker

Unison Drum Monkey exists because programming drums from an empty grid is where more sessions die than anywhere else. You know how the track should feel — the melody is there, the bass is waiting — but the drums are a blank grid and every pattern you program sounds like the last one you made. Unison Drum Monkey generates complete drum patterns and rhythmic ideas so you can start from a groove instead of from nothing, then shape it into something unmistakably yours.

A groove first, details after

A great drum pattern is a relationship, not a collection of hits: the kick leaning against the bass, the snare answering the hats, the percussion filling the gaps. Unison Drum Monkey gives you that relationship as a starting point — full rhythmic ideas spanning kick, snare, clap, hi-hats and percussion that you can audition fast until one locks with your track. From there, the normal producer instincts take over: swap the kit, rewrite the kick, strip elements out, layer your own percussion on top, humanize the velocities. The generated groove is scaffolding, and scaffolding comes down once the building stands.

Speed is the feature

The honest advantage of Unison Drum Monkey is not that it programs better drums than you — it is that it programs the first draft in seconds while your inspiration is still hot. That matters most at the start of a session, when momentum decides whether you finish a track or close the laptop. Beatmakers who hate programming drums get a way around their least favorite task; experienced producers get a randomness engine for grooves they would never have programmed themselves; songwriters get rhythmic foundations to write against. And because the output is editable MIDI, nothing about your sound has to change — your kits, your mix, your style all stay exactly yours.

Frequently asked questions

What does Unison Drum Monkey generate?

Complete drum patterns and rhythmic ideas — kick, snare, clap, hi-hat and percussion relationships you can use as foundations, inspiration or arrangement starting points.

Can I edit the generated patterns?

Yes. Patterns arrive as editable MIDI, so you can change sounds, rewrite rhythms, remove elements and combine ideas freely in your DAW.

Will it make my beats sound generic?

Only if you never touch them. The generated groove is a starting point — your kit choices, edits, layering and mix are what make the final beat yours.
